Welcome to my E-Prortfolio!
I am currently a student at Blanche MacDonald Centre located in Vancouver British Columbia. I am pursuing a diploma in the Global Makeup Program, with the aspiration of becoming a Professional Bridal Makeup Artist. I started as a student at the University of Saskatchewan studying towards a Biology Degree. After living so far from home, I was forced to think and reflect on the choices I was making and how I envisioned my future playing out. I realized that what I thought I wanted to achieve with my life was no longer what I felt in my heart I was supposed to be doing. I came home and started to brainstorm ideas of things that made me happy and that I could see myself doing for the rest of my life. After a list of a few ideas, it finally hit me that makeup artistry has ultimately always been a passion of mine, so why not turn that into a career?
I am now 3 weeks into my diploma program at Blanche MacDonald, and it feels so reassuring to be so excited about what I am doing. School is most definitely tiring work, but it is not hard work anymore. I go to class for 8 hours and am eager to learn and not afraid to be asking lots of questions. This is something I did not do before. I felt constant pressure to be perfect which was mentally draining because I felt like I had to work a lot harder than everyone else in order to achieve that. In makeup school, I am able to let my creative energy out as I work towards improving my skills and becoming the best I can be.
